CONFLICT RESOLUTION EXPERIENCE
Mr. Guttman began his legal career in 1969 at Cravath, Swaine & Moore, in New York as a litigation associate. In 1973, Mr. Guttman joined CBS Inc. to start up the litigation section of the company's legal department. Among other litigation tasks, Mr. Guttman represented CBS News and Entertainment divisions for 15 years in all of its litigation, involving defamation, intellectual property and commercial litigation.
Mr. Guttman became Columbia and Tri-Star Pictures' Deputy General Counsel in 1988. When Sony Inc. bought Columbia Pictures the following year, Mr. Guttman was relocated to California where he was responsible for all Sony Entertainment litigation.
In 1993 he joined what was then called Christensen, White, Miller, Jacobs, Glaser & Weil, where he practiced entertainment litigation. In 2003, Mr. Guttman joined Richardson & Patel, counseling entertainment clients in corporate financing matters. In 2004, he joined long time client Mantra Films, Inc. as its Chief Operating Officer and General Counsel. Since 2006, Mr. Guttman used his litigation and business experiences in a full time mediation/arbitration practice.

Previously: ABA Section Advisor to Uniform Law Commission on Uniform Defamation Act; Co-Chair and Co-Founder, Defense Counsel Section, Libel Defense Resource Center; Vice-Chair, ABA Section Committee on Defamation & Tort Insurance; Member, Motion Picture Association of America Anti-Piracy Committee; Editor, Marino Bar Review Teaching Texts The Substantive Law of New York (1971-73 editions) and the New York Procedural Law (1971-73 editions).
