CONFLICT RESOLUTION EXPERIENCE
Mr. Burgh is licensed to try tax cases in all federal, California and Illinois courts. He is also a CPA, making him uniquely qualified to handle mediations in which taxation and accounting play a part. He has represented all sides in many probate, guardianship and conservatorship cases and has acted as lead counsel on a significant number of probate, estate, will and trust litigation matters and appeals to the California Court of Appeal.
Mr. Burgh has been a senior partner at Burgh, Balian & Bergstein, LLP, since 1995 and was a sole practitioner prior to that. Mr. Burgh worked in the private sector in Chicago as Director of Insurance Tax Services at Price Waterhouse (1984-1987) and as Vice President and Senior Tax Counsel for the Combined Insurance Company of America (1970-1984). He was a partner at the Chicago law firm of Bentley, Campbell, DuCanto & Silvestri from 1965-1970.

Nearly 15 years of law school teaching experience, including: Adjunct Professor of Law, LLM program, Loyola Law School, teaching estate and probate planning and taxation of trusts and estates (1996-present); and Adjunct Professor of Law, Southwestern University School of Law (1993-1999).
