A nationally recognized expert in electronic discovery, Liane Komagome has counseled Fortune 100 clients on information governance best practices and litigation risk management since 2001. She has advised on complex litigation issues around e-discovery for technology companies such as Google and Hewlett-Packard. Prior to joining ARC, Ms. Komagome served as Discovery
Compliance Counsel for Hewlett-Packard and National e-Discovery Counsel on behalf of Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. She combines policy, process and technology recommendations that empower clients to manage their own information and meet regulatory and legal retention requirements. Ms. Komagome’s expertise includes information governance, electronic discovery, retention requirements
and data privacy in the U.S. and abroad.

Ms. Komagome is an accomplished attorney and leader in the
electronic discovery community and a regular speaker on that
topic at national legal forums. Ms. Komagome consults with
corporate counsel, chief technology officers, corporate compliance officers, law firms and e-vendors. Her collaborative
approach to discovery management makes her an exceptional
neutral in disputes involving the convergence of law and
technology. As a Principal in Legal Business Consulting and
Director of Electronic Discovery and Information Governance
in the leading global consulting firm of CRA International
(formerly known as Charles Rivers Associates), Ms. Komagome
specializes in developing strategic processes for effective, defensible, and cost efficient electronic discovery management.

Specific to e-Discovery, Ms Komagome’s expertise includes the
synchronization of policies with technology, and she provides
pre-litigation discovery readiness assessment, develops ESI
inventories, defines litigation hold protocols for litigation, develops discovery response plans and trains discovery response teams. Ms. Komagome advises counsel on effective strategies for discovery conferences before the court and cost-effective discovery management throughout the lifecycle of litigation. Prior to joining CRA, she previously practiced law at Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP, Mayer Brown LLP, and Duane Morris LLP, and focused on electronic information management and integration of technologies in commercial litigation. Prior to
private practice, Ms. Komagome also served as law clerk in the
Northern District of California to Hon. Spencer M. Williams.
