CONFLICT RESOLUTION EXPERIENCE
Mr. Portugal’s work experience includes mass tort, class action and multi-district litigation cases in state and federal courts. He understands litigation from a trial attorney’s perspective, having worked in law firms and as a sole practitioner. He has advanced mediation and dispute resolution training. Mediation and alternative dispute resolution methods play an integral role in his litigation practice.
Mr. Portugal is known for his creative and effective approaches to dispute and conflict resolution. He has participated in the organization of settlements in mass tort cases as well as catastrophic injury cases which require knowledge of structured settlements and special needs trusts. His experience as a litigator makes him sensitive to the needs of clients and principals and the necessity to make dispute resolution cost effective.
