Jonathon Kaplan, Esq.
After graduating Duke University School of Law in 1990, Jonathon Kaplan joined Lewis, D’Amato, Brisbois & Bisgaard LLP, where he has acted as sole or lead counsel in dozens of civil and criminal trials and has numerous published opinions. Mr. Kaplan is an experienced arbitrator and mediator approved by the Los Angeles County Superior Court. He has extensive mediation and alternative dispute resolution education and training. In May 2001, Mr. Kaplan was named one of the “Top 20 Lawyers Under 40” in the state of California by the Los Angeles Daily Journal.

As a partner in the Products Liability Department of Lewis, D’Amato, Mr. Kaplan’s practice focuses on products liability, consumer warranty, unfair business practices, and Consumer Legal Remedies Act claims as well as environmental coverage and international litigation. With a Master of Law in foreign and international law, he is well-versed in the issues relating to the representation of foreign entities in California State and Federal Courts. Mr. Kaplan has represented both plaintiffs and defendants in these matters.

He is chair of the firm’s Continuing Legal Education Committee and an annual lecturer and organizer of the Annual Automotive Manufacturers Seminar, offering courses on handling consumer claims for members of the automotive and recreational vehicle industries.
