Hon. Irwin J. Nebron, ret.
Judge Nebron’s nearly 30 years as a judge produced much innovative leadership. His outstanding settlement ability has given him a reputation for creativity and vision. He was known as “The Candy Man” during his 15 years of service at the Van Nuys Superior Court, where he shared candy with litigants and visitors to encourage “sweeter settlements,” and he has brought that tradition to ARC.

Having taught judicial settlement techniques for CJER for many years, his negotiating skill, legal acumen and cumulative settlement record are unsurpassed. He is a veteran hearing officer who can handle very difficult, very complicated disputes involving insurance coverage, liability issues, personal injury and business cases. While he is known to be a model of efficiency, he is also known to never leave the table if there is a chance of bringing the case to a resolution.

Judge Nebron was twice assigned by the Chief Justice to sit on assignment to the Second District Court of Appeal, and he has been recognized many times for his dedication to justice and the legal profession. Among the many honors bestowed from his peers, he received the prestigious “President’s Award” from the California Judges Association, and the coveted “Stanley M. Lintz Award” from the San Fernando Valley Bar Association.
