Hon. Raul A. Ramirez, Ret.
Judge Ramirez is a skilled and seasoned veteran in the arena of private conflict resolution, hearing a wide range of federal and state cases. Since his retirement from the bench in 1990, Judge Ramirez has conducted more than 3,000 mediations and arbitrations. He also has been appointed as a discovery referee and special master on many complex cases involving issues of great consequence.

Judge Ramirez is most noted for resolving employment disputes, including age discrimination, sexual harassment/retaliation, wrongful termination, and class action wage & hour disputes. Judge Ramirez also handles mass torts and other types of personal injury/insurance cases, professional malpractice disputes, and complex business matters.

Judge Ramirez retired after 13 years of service on both state and federal courts. Upon his retirement he returned to the practice of law and began his career in private judging, specializing in commercial litigation. Prior to his appointment to the bench, Judge Ramirez was a senior partner at the firm of Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe for six years.
