| Alan Ribakoff practiced business, corporate and commercial law for more than 35 years before he began providing neutral services in 2000. Mr. Ribakoffs substantive legal expertise and hands on litigation experience in a wide range of disputes has enhanced his skills as an arbitrator and mediator, enabling him to successfully resolve numerous matters which had been deemed irresolvable. He has served on many arbitration and mediation panels and is frequently retained as an independent fact finder.
Mr. Ribakoff began his legal career at Monteleone & McCrory in 1967. He became a partner in 1970 and worked extensively for the next decade on complex business and construction disputes. In 1981 he joined the law firm of Allred, Maroko, Goldberg & Ribakoff, where he was partner in charge of business litigation matters and the managing partner. In 1991, Mr. Ribakoff became the Vice-President and in-house General Counsel of a group of corporations, publishing 12 magazines. He oversaw all legal and regulatory issues, supervised an extensive international trademark licensing program, and handled legal issues involving the creation and operation of a franchise distribution. In 1997 Mr. Ribakoff started his own law firm, Masters & Ribakoff, where he continued to perform his previous in-house duties as outside General Counsel and was responsible for two major corporate acquisitions, which included the sale of the entire publishing group. He currently serves on numerous neutral panels, including the mediation panel and the attorney-client fee-dispute arbitration panel of the Los Angeles Superior Court. He has frequently been retained as an independent fact finder in employment matters, has served as an expert witness in business and employment disputes, and as a neutral monitor of hiring practices.
