Hon. Joel Rudof, ret.
Judge Joel Rudof has been an acclaimed member of the local legal community for decades. He has been hearing disputes privately for more than 15 years, after having served as an arbitrator through the courts for six years and as a judge for 12 years. Before he was appointed to the bench, Judge Rudof was in private practice in Los Angeles for 30 years, where he became a specialist in Workers’ Compensation Law.

Judge Rudof has taught at the University of La Verne College of Law and he has been a frequent speaker at the Continuing Education of the Bar on such topics as “Civil Litigation During Trial.” He is considered to be an expert in the application of personal injury law and of the rules of evidence. Both on and off the bench, he has heard a large number of construction defect matters and has accumulated a wealth of experience with complex litigation.

In his alternative dispute resolution hearings, he is known to be easy to work with and efficient. His clients say that “he makes arbitration easy” and “he stayed the whole day,” showing exceptional dedication to the process. As a mediator, he is known to be effective, broad-minded, and particularly adept at evaluating a claim. His skill with negotiation, as well as his fairness, have brought him high regard.
