Hon. Andrew J. Weisz, ret.
Since the beginning of his ADR career, Judge Weisz has been known as an extremely professional and independent jurist, whose “only bias is against injustice.” His outstanding knowledge of the law and his orderly approach to hearings has made him “a top choice” since 1987.

He has more than 20 years of judicial experience, during which he pioneered innovative solutions to complex problems. He was Presiding Judge of the Beverly Hills Municipal Court from 1979 to 1986, and he rose to the challenges of social unrest, court relocation and major court reorganization. From the time he served as a research attorney for Justice Roger Traynor until his assignment to California’s Second District Court of Appeals and beyond, Judge Weisz has distinguished himself as a legal scholar. Seven of his appellate opinions have been published.

Judge Weisz graduated at the head of his class at USC Law Center and was the recipient of many awards for scholastic achievement. He is an active member of several bar associations and he has lectured, taught and written extensively on multiple legal topics for many organizations, including CEB.
