Unsurpassed Expertise
In the past decade, the impressive panel of resolution experts at ARC has increased nearly tenfold and our client list has grown to include top law firms, major insurance carriers, Fortune 500 companies and public entities.

ARC’S DISTINGUISHED PANEL of respected and successful hearing officers features some of the region’s most sought-after jurists — State and Federal court judges and justices as well as attorney-neutrals with years of experience, subject matter expertise, and ongoing conflict resolution training. This ensures our clients the same level and quality of jurist competence found on the bench, as well as the ability to select a judge or attorney-neutral who specializes in the appropriate field of law.

ARC’S KNOWLEDGEABLE CASE ADMINISTRATORS can overcome the biggest challenge in using private conflict resolution —getting everyone to the table. Facilitators and negotiators in their own right, our case administrators are able to break the logjam and persuade reluctant parties to participate. They are extremely familiar with each panelist’s experience, style, and specialties, making them especially adept at identifying the right judge or attorney and suggesting the appropriate hearing format. In addition to gaining the agreement of all parties on a panelist, format, date and time, our staff is also available to assist in convening complex, multi-party cases such as construction defect, environmental or health care disputes.

ARC OFFERS COMPETITIVE RATES AND CONVENIENT FACILITIES without sacrificing the quality of our panel or staff. Fees are fixed and divided between the number of parties, giving you the most productive use of your settlement dollars. Whether the case is valued at $100,000 or $100 million, whether there are two parties or 200, the hourly rate remains fixed. Our private, comfortable hearing facilities, conducive to settlement or adjudication, feature large conference rooms, caucusing rooms and a professional atmosphere.
ARC WAS FOUNDED IN 1987 by Lee Friedman and Steven Davis, entrepreneurs whose mission was to promote mediation and arbitration as practical solutions to crowded courtrooms and expensive litigation. In 1990, ADR marketing and business development expert Amy Newman joined the ARC team. More than a dozen years and tens of thousands of disputes later, ARC remains one of the West Coast’s most successful full-service conflict resolution firms — retaining its original entrepreneurial spirit while ensuring its clients a consistently high level of quality, competence and professionalism.

After working hand-in-hand with hundreds of judges and thousands of attorneys, ARC’s Chief Executive Officer Steven Davis (right), Chief Operating Officer Lee Friedman (left) and President Amy Newman (center) have developed a broad perspective on where the conflict resolution industry has been and where it is going. Their wealth of experience and understanding gives ARC the momentum to stand apart and help its clients succeed in the 21st century.
