Los Angeles Superior Court Commissioner, Retired

Commissioner Keith Clemens (Ret.) specializes in Family Law and has served as a private judge/judge pro tem, mediator, arbitrator, discovery referee, CCP § 638 and 639 referee, special master/family facilitator and case manager for the past two decades. He served on the Los Angeles Superior Court from 1991-1996, where he presided over family law direct calendar courts, family law trials, mandatory settlement conferences, OSC hearings, law and motion hearings, ex parte matters, domestic violence cases, and mandatory and voluntary settlement conferences.

  • Author, numerous family lawrelated articles, including the annual "Family Law Update" prepared for the Beverly Hills Bar Association by Commissioner Clemens as one of the "Three Amigos."

CONFLICT RESOLUTION EXPERIENCE

Commissioner Clemens served in the Los Angeles Superior Court Department 9, Central District (Stanley Mosk Courthouse), from 1993-1996 and Department J, North Valley District (San Fernando) from 1991-1992.

Prior to his judicial service, he was a partner at Center for Enforcement of Family Support from 1985-1991 and in-house counsel at Atlantic Richfield Company from 1979-1984. He was in private practice from1973-79, handling primarily business law and civil litigation.
